Would you rather toss away your toilet paper or paper towel rolls in the recycling bin or have fun, get crafty and have a temporary wall art hanging at home?! Here’s a great activity for the kids (or yourself) to reuse those empty rolls once they are finished. Instead of school work posted on the fridge door, display these easy to make DIY wall art masterpieces on the walls all around the house!
What You’ll Need:
- Toilet paper / paper towel roll(s)
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scissor
- Tape (or glue)
- Paint and paintbrush / spray paint (optional)
- Push pin, wall hook, or 3D display frame
Instructions:
Get a hold of a few finished toilet paper or paper towel rolls and flatten them. The amount of rolls needed varies depending on the size of your wall art.
Using a ruler and pencil/pen, make a mark depending on how “thick” and stand out you want your wall art to be. I went for approximately 1mm.
Using scissors, cut the marks you made.
Lay out your cut outs and play around with how you will want your finish product to look.
Below are some ideas. It can be as small or big as you want. Get creative! Once you have your design laid out, start taping or glueing. Use paint or spray paint if desire for added effect. To hang it up, simply grab a push pin, wall hook or pick up a 3D display frame at a craft store, hang it up and show off your creation.
There you have it – an easy DIY Wall Art! A fun home décor art project for the whole family!
