In an older post, I shared What’s In My (Everyday) Makeup Bag but when it comes to special occasions, my makeup bag is slightly different. I don’t bring with me a hundred and one items. In fact, I bring as little as possible, because the last thing I want to think about is reapplying my makeup the entire night, let alone stuffing a case full of beauty products in a pint size clutch.

Okay, so it doesn’t seem like a little but it’s less than what I have in my everyday makeup bag. When attending events and special dinner outings, I usually carry the necessities, not only for me but for others as well.
Here are some of my favourite items in my makeup bag for when I attend special dinner occasions.
This Milly for Clinique cosmetic bag is perfection. It’s big enough to fit a hand full of items but small enough to fit inside a small clutch. Bonus points: the design! Love it!

I’m all for keeping my lips moisturized (Nivea Hydro Care). And for those who need some TLC on their lips, Vaseline to the rescue! The lipsticks I carry differ but one thing is for sure, I always bring two options. In this case, a matte (Tarte LipSurgence – Destined) and soft shine (Make Up For Ever – Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick) finish.

Regardless of how much I trust the face products I use (matte finish, shine-free, etc), I ALWAYS bring a pressed powder. Because let’s be honest, no one wants to have a shiny face (especially in pictures). And if my eyeliner decides to disappear, I always have my trusty Annabelle kohl eyeliner (one of my absolute favourites!). Oh and smooth skin (L’Occitane – Almond Delicious Hands) and smelling pretty (Bellissima Blumarine Eau De Parfum) is always a nice thing.

THE most important items I always have with me: mirror, hair ties, bobby pins, hand sanitizer (and/or wipes), and band-aids. For whatever reason, whether it’s for me or someone else, I am well-prepared!
