If you have almonds, blanching and grounding almonds is super easy. No more having to run to the store and buying blanch or ground almonds ever again.
What You’ll Need:
- Almonds
- Sauce pan
- Boiled water
- Strainer or colander
- Paper towel or tea towel
To make Almond Flour, you’ll also need:
- Coffee grinder, food processor or blender
Instructions:
To Blanch Almonds:
Boil water in sauce pan and add almonds (Alternative: place almonds in a bowl and pour boiling water)
Let it sit for exactly 1 minute with lid on – DO NOT let it sit in hot water for any longer, almonds will soften
Drain almonds in a strainer or colander, then rinse under cold water
Grip almond between your thumb and index finger, the skin from the almond should easily loosen and slip off* with a little pinch. (*Careful! Almonds are slippery and may fly right out)
Let almonds dry completely by placing them onto a paper towel or tea towel
To make Almond Flour:
Once you have dried blanch almonds. Put them in your coffee grinder, food processor or blender and let it ground the almonds until they are to a coarse meal or fine flour. And TA-DA!!!
