Pür Minerals Mineral Lip Pencil with Lip Brush

Pür Minerals provides quick, easy, mineral-based makeup and skincare products. All of their makeup and skincare products are formulated in the USA, manufactured cruelty-free, completely free of animal testing and is an eco-friendly brand committed to minimizing waste and using responsibly sourced ingredients.

Having heard some great things about Pür Minerals, I decided to give it a try. I went for a lip liner as that was the only item in my makeup stash that I don't have many of. Maybe I should have ordered more products to test, maybe next time.

The Pür Minerals Mineral Lip Pencil with Lip Brush claims it is easy to enhance the natural contours of lips. It has a silky, smooth, waterproof formula that "magically" minimizes the colour from bleeding into fine lines around the mouth. The lip liner contains no additives, fragrance or chemical dyes AND is gluten free.

What I liked:
Ruby -- A pink-to-red liner. (For a softer shade use a lighter hand - the colour of the lip liner is buildable)

Lip liner blend -- Liner is smooth and creamy enough to be used as a single lip colour and can be blended with brush

Brush -- Great brush for blending - for liner or other lip products

What I disliked:
Not waterproof -- Although the lip liner is smooth and creamy, it can easily be removable

Twisting liner -- In order to get more product, all you need to do is twist the pen clockwise. However, do not over twist - it will not go back down and will cause liner to break off, if not careful.

Breakable plastic packaging -- Fragile. A slight drop and the cap of the liner cracked. I understand the eco-friendly concept, though I wish the packaging was more practical.

Overall, the lip liner is unfortunately a so-so. A great colour payoff and brush tool. However, for the price you are paying ($16) for a product that somewhat works to its standards, it is not worth it. That being said, I will look into purchasing other Pür Minerals products to test and hope those live up to their standards.

If you have tried Pür Minerals and loved a specific product, do share. I would love to hear some recommendations!
