Top 5 Favourite Signature Perfume Fragrances

Dream of a dream. An ordinary girl could dream of going into a lab and creating the scent of her dreams. Until that day comes, I am glad there are hundreds upon hundreds of perfume selections out in the market. Over the course of my lifetime, thus far, I have stumbled upon a handful of fragrances and only met a few I didn’t like.

I can go ahead and throw in my entire list of favourites but I’ll save that for another day. For now, I’ll introduce you to my top 5 favourite fragrances, some have a significant meaning while others are my true signature scent.

#5. Nina Ricci L’Air du Temps | Eau De Toilette — This spring accord is a vibrant and sumptuous bunch of flowers, offset by the peppery fragrance of garden pink carnation.

This perfume is probably the outlier of the list in terms of scent. It’s not a perfume I use often but it’s one of my favourites because my Mother would dab a little on me as a kid during special events with the intention of gifting the perfume when I was older.

#4. Clinique Happy — A hint of citrus. A wealth of flowers. A mix of emotions. Clinique’s best-selling women’s fragrance interplays fresh, vibrant notes (ruby red grapefruit, bergamot) with soft, sensual ones (Hawaiian wedding flower, spring mimosa).

I recently discovered Clinique Happy unintentionally. I was browsing the Clinique counter while the associates were helping other customers. I stumbled on the fragrance section and decided to give all of them a whiff. Once I got to Clinique Happy, a rush of memories came through. It reminded me of a time when Gap came out with their Eau de Toilette spray (dream, so pink, and heaven) and I loved it. Sadden by their discontinuation but happy to have found Clinique Happy!

#3. Narciso Rodriguez For Her | Eau de Parfum — Musk remains at the heart of for her eau de parfum, enhanced by a rare weave of pink floral with hints of rose, peach pulp and soft amber.

Perfume strips from magazines are pretty accurate, although it can be overwhelming if the magazine has more than one perfume advertisement. I quite liked Narciso Rodriguez through the magazine strip but I wasn’t 100% because there were so many other scents. I visited a department store, gave it a true spritz and I knew this scent is one I would wear for evening outings.

#2. Daisy Marc Jacobs Eau So Fresh | Eau De Toilette — A bright, floral, fruit fragrance. It radiates with a sunny and sparkling energy.

Signature scent, part time. I love a light floral but fruity fragrance and Daisy has my answer. I use this fragrance throughout the spring/summer seasons because has such a fresh scent. It truly is “eau so fresh”. And the packaging, I couldn’t resist a cute Marc Jacob fragrance bottle.

#1. Chloe | Eau de Parfum — Combined with magnolias and generous peonies, it is both honey-like and powdery on the skin. Cheeky, free and sophisticated, it vibrates with a woody tone, a touch of ambergris and a sheen of cedar scent.

True signature scent!!! I remember the first time my nose picked up this scent, I was at the mall. I didn’t know where the scent came from but it lingered onto me until I got home. Since that day, I went on a fragrance hunt. Months later I found it through a department store sampler and immediately made the purchase. It’s been a couple of years but everyone who recognizes the scent knows it’s me. The secret is now out.
