ChickAdvisor hosted one of its most popular events, ShowCase by ChickAdvisor. What is ShowCase? It’s an exclusive live product testing party. Guests get to experience and review a selection of new and classic beauty products while also enjoying exquisite high tea pastries and savouries in a luxurious hotel ballroom setting.
If you follow my social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat) then you would’ve seen what I was up to last weekend, more specifically on Sunday afternoon. But in case you did not follow me on any of those social media platforms (I recommend you do so now so you don’t miss out on future whereabouts), I’ll provide a run down on what happened: I attended the ChickAdvisor ShowCase 2016 in Toronto at the Fairmont Royal York. I walked in and was greeted immediately and was told to be careful of the goodie bag on the table as inside had a bottle of wine. I picked a seat and started to tweet, insta, and snap. We were also told to help ourselves with some afternoon tea delights: sandwiches, sweets, and sips!
Right when we were about to start, ChickAdvisor founder, Ali de Bold, gave us a brief history of ChickAdvisor as they were celebrating a huge milestone of 10 years. She then introduced us to our first product to review but before that she told us we would need to remove our makeup. I’m not going to lie, the entire room was unimpressed. But this was where the fun began. The process was simple: test the product, review it on ChickAdvisor.com, then use social media with the handles and hashtags provided and tell your followers (doing so enters you into a draw to win prizes at the end), and repeat. Below are the items that were given and reviewed during Toronto ShowCase 2016.
Overall, I had a really great time reviewing products on the spot, Tweeting, Instagramming, Snapping, and meeting fellow chicks from ChickAdvisor. Although the remainder two ShowCase 2016 events, held in Montreal and Vancouver, are sold out, I highly recommend everyone to sign up to ChickAdvisor, explore the site, and be on the look out for future events, as any event hosted by ChickAdvisor gets sold out pretty quickly.
Sounds like a great event and a nice way to spend a weekend evening! Love that you got to try out some new (and old faves!) things as well as bringing those goodie bags home!
