NYX Bare With Me Collection Review

Lately, my skin is at a point where I am comfortable walking out bare face with just mascara and a bit of colour on the lips. But that doesn’t stop me from wanting to wear a light/medium coverage foundation or a tinted moisturizer, you know, to even out the skin tone.

That being said, the no-makeup makeup trend is well beyond the rise. More and more makeup companies are gearing towards products that will help achieve that bare face glow. Case in point, NYX Professional Makeup Bare With Me collection. This collection houses everything needed for a fresh glowy no-makeup look, from a radiant primer to tinted foundations.

Bare With Me Hydrating Jelly Primer
NYX Bare With Me Hydrating Jelly Primer BWMJP01 Review

A water-based gel primer with a jelly-like texture. NYX Bare With Me Hydrating Jelly Primer is infused with skin-loving ingredients like cucumber and aloe extracts. This multi-purpose gel hydrates the complexion and softens the appearance of pores for a bright, fresh-looking glow.

The formula also creates an even base for smooth makeup application. Another cool tidbit: the amazing jelly texture bounces back into place no matter how much you scoop out.

HOW TO USE
Apply a small amount of primer directly to the face. Allow it to set before applying makeup.

This Hydrating Jelly Primer literally has the texture and consistency of jelly. Once applied, it felt like having a hydrating mask on; it feels very hydrating and refreshing on the skin.

The primer has a bit of a sticky feel but after applying a foundation, the stickiness is no longer there. The primer helped prime the skin and made it easy for the foundation to go on, leaving a smooth even-skin canvas. I also love how the jelly “bounces back” after digging into the product.

Bare with Me Tinted Skin Veil comes in a squeeze tube and provides a liquid consistency. It’s lightweight and has a light/tinted coverage. Once applied, it leaves a natural finish that is smooth to the touch.

The shade Vanilla Nude is a light shade with neutral undertone. It evened out my skin tone, toned down the redness on my skin while leaving behind and blurring dark spots. This skin veil defines the “no-makeup” makeup look; my skin still looks and feels natural with a bit of a fresh glow.

Bare With Me Prime. Set. Refresh Multitasking Spray
NYX Bare With Me Prime Set Refresh Multitasking Spray BWMSP01 Review

This sensitive skin-friendly spray has your complexion covered every step of the way. NYX Bare With Me Prime. Set. Refresh. Multitasking Spray is infused with aloe and cucumber extracts.

With just a few spritz, it will prime the complexion for makeup application, sets and refreshes the finished look. This multipurpose mist also gives skin a dewy glow, minimizes the appearance of pores, and provides up to eight hours of hydration.

HOW TO USE
Spritz this mist over the face before and after makeup application.

I felt this Multitasking Spray is a great refreshing spray that locks down the makeup. It did set my makeup and gave my complexion an extra bit of dewy glow. That being said, the spray was more of a power spritz rather than a light mist so it doesn’t quite evenly spray around the face.

Overall, using the combination of all three products (Jelly Primer, Tinted Skin Veil, Multitasking Spray), my skin looked dewy and felt lightweight. Throughout the day, my skin didn’t look shiny or shown any visible dry patches. By the end of the day, the Tinted Skin Veil stayed on and still looked as glowy and fresh as it was when it was first applied.
