Welcome to my October 2020 Empties!

How was everyone’s October? I went on a baking spree, as one does once the smell of crisp autumn air arrives and the weather gets cooler. Canadian Thanksgiving was a bit different this year without any huge gatherings but still made the best of it thanks to video calls. Speaking of making the best of it, I managed to empty out a few products this month, not a lot but it’s something *shrugs*. I mean, it’s a few less products in my stash.
BODY, SKIN, and HAIR CARE

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body Oil (Product Review)
I love applying this Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body Oil all over my body right after I shower. It doesn’t have a strong coconut scent compared to the original Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil (which has a bit of a strong cocoa scent for my liking) and doesn’t have a super oily feel. Right after application, the oil immediately sets in, leaving skin smooth and moisturized.
L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil
The one product I seem to be forgetting to include in my monthly empties are shower products, occasionally I would use body washes and switch them out from time-to-time depending on my skin needs but I regularly use Dove bar soaps and each time I open a new bar, I throw the box without thinking to save it for my empties. I’ll try to remember for the next time. Anyways, the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil became an immediate favourite; the oil turns into a milky foam and the lathers so nicely onto the skin, the almond scent is calming and gives that spa-like feeling, and in the end it left my skin so soft and smooth, it’s perfection! I will definitely be purchasing a full size.
L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream
With all the hand sanitizers and hand washing I’ve been doing every other minute, my poor hands were at a dry state that usually happens during the colder seasons and my regular hand moisturizers weren’t cutting it for me. So I had to bust out the L’Occitane Hand Cream – which I usually reserve for Winter – and use it when my hands were super dry. This is one of my all time favourite hand creams because it leaves hands SO soft and nourished and the scent is such a delight! It’s no wonder this hand cream is sold every two seconds around the world.
Lancome Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate Serum
I have a few more of these sample serums in my stash thanks to GWPs. This is the second one I finished up this year (the first was back in June) and I still love it! It still takes about 2-3 months to finish this 8ml sample with daily use. But I’m not complaining since my skin feels so nice after applying the serum at night alongside the rest of my skin care routine. I would most likely repurchase the full size once I finish all the samples.
Tresemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth Shampoo, Conditioner, Heat Activated Treatment
I usually enjoy Tresemme products but this 7 Day Keratin Smooth Shampoo, Conditioner and Treatment was probably the first that I wasn’t a fan of. I did like the scent – it had your typical Tresemme scent – light, sweet, floral. My hair remained decently straight (2-3 days) before the next hair wash. The reason why I didn’t like this collection is mainly because there was a lot more than usual hair falling out during and after hair wash. Also, my hair didn’t feel as clean, especially the roots, and although my hair felt soft it wasn’t silky smooth.
What are your thoughts on my October 2020 empties? Have you tried any of the products featured? Do you ever have high expectation with a product only to be disappointed in the end?
