Neutrogena has been one of my go-to brands when it comes to skin care – their product formulations are top notch while also being reasonably priced. I’m still using products from their Hydro Boost line after all these years and had recently discovered their latest line: Skin Balancing.
Three skin-loving cleansers that are designed to match your skin type. Kaolin clay cleanser for oily skin. A milky cleanser for dry or sensitive skin. And gel cleanser for normal and combination skin. But of course, in true Neutrogena fashion, they have wipes – their Micellar Cleansing Wipes are perfect for all skin types.
Additionally, the Micellar Cleansing Wipes are made with 100% plant-based home compostable fibers, while their bottles are 100% recyclable and made with up to 30% post-consumer recycled plastic.
All Neutrogena Skin Balancing products are hypoallergenic and formulated without: Parabens, soaps, sulfates, phthalates, alcohol, and dyes.
Neutrogena Skin Balancing Micellar Cleansing Wipes
These 100% plant-based wipes are infused with vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5 to help fight pollution and renew skin’s look by effectively yet gently lifting away make-up, oil and impurities. The conditioning formula leaves skin soft, smooth and perfectly balanced with no need to rinse.
How to Use:
- Remove wipe from packaging and reseal package to keep wipes moist.
- Gently wipe over face, neck, and eye areas until all dirt, oil, and make-up is removed. There is no need to rinse.
- Skin Balancing Micellar Cleansing Wipes are made of 100% plant-based materials and can be disposed of in the compost. Do not flush.
Although I don’t use cleansing wipes to cleanse my face, I do use them to wipe away any makeup swatches I make on my hands. That said, they do effectively removed all traces of makeup – waterproof liquid eyeliner, shimmery eyeshadows, red lipsticks, foundation – you name it, it was removed!
The wipes have a refreshing minty scent and does have a refreshing feel on the skin. The wipes are packed with moisture like a damp cloth and it does leave the skin with an oily-turned-sticky residue that lingers. I would recommend to thoroughly rinse with water after using the wipes. Overall, these are good cleansing wipes to remove makeup and it left my skin smooth and not dry or stripping.
Neutrogena Skin Balancing Gel Cleanser for Normal and Combination Skin
A soft gel cleanser that targets and removes pore-clogging dirt and impurities while smoothing and softening the skin. This purifying face wash contains dermatologist-grade 2% polyhydroxy acid (PHA) and is an effective liquid exfoliant and moisturizing humectant in one, decongests down to the pores while conditioning skin. Its hypoallergenic formula respects skin’s natural pH and moisture barrier.
How to Use:
- Wet face with lukewarm water.
- Apply a quarter-size amount of cleanser to hands, add water and work into a lather.
- Gently massage the cleanser over the face in circular motions while being extra careful around your eyes.
- Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a towel.
This gel cleanser comes in a pump dispenser – I would recommend to gently dispense the product as a little bit goes a very long way (I opt for a little less than a quarter size amount). The gel cleanser has a fresh cucumber-minty scent that is very refreshing.
The gel turns into a soapy foam when worked into a lather and rinses off easily, leaving my skin cleansed and smooth without feeling squeaky clean or stripping my skin of its moisture. Overall, I would say it’s a great second cleanse that not only cleanses but is gentle for the skin.
