When it comes to the month of May, flowers always come to mind, not just because “April showers bring May flowers” but also Mother’s Day is right around the corner, reminding me of my Mother’s love of flowers. Whether they’re blooming in her garden, receiving fresh bouquets, or wearing floral prints, she LOVES flowers.
I figured, what’s a better way to honour Mother’s Day than to create a fun flowery nail art that my Mother used to do on my nails when I was younger. They’re super easy to create and you only need one tool (dotting pen) or a makeshift tool (bobby pin or toothpick) along with a few shades of nail polish.
Start with a clear base coat and then choose a base shade, I used Bio Sculpture Gemini Nourishing Nail Polish in 2003 Nude.
Next, pick a shade for your flower petal (2027 Perfect Pink). Using a dotting pen, coat the polish onto the pen and dot four corners together.

Then pick another shade for the center of the flower (2058 Desert Sunset). Coat that polish onto the dotting pen and dot it onto the center of the flower.

Optionally, use a different shade (197 Bohemian Beauty) and draw additional petals around the flower.

Lastly, add a clear top coat.
