Fun Fact: I was thirteen when I had my first exposure to makeup. A school friend unskillfully applied liner on the upper lash line. Even though it was a one time thing, I was amazed at how an eyeliner can slightly change the way I look. One day, my Mother and I were at the drugstore and I happen to stumble on the makeup brand my friend used on me. Without any knowledge of makeup (mind you, beauty blogs and YouTube didn’t quite exist then), I picked up a fine brush tip liquid liner – it was clearly not the one my friend used.
Luckily for magazines and social networking sites that are probably extinct by now, I self-taught myself how to do an eyeliner. What’s even more crazy, I honestly thought drawing a winged liner was the only way to go – so that’s all I knew and simply did. Looking back, I realized why everyone was complimenting on my eyeliner – I had no idea that trying to get the perfect winged liner was hard to achieve.
Fast forward to now, I still use liquid liner and still wing it out! Though, my knowledge of makeup has improved, significantly. My favourite type of liquid liners are ones that are felt tip, glides on smoothly, long lasting, and smudge-free.
COVERGIRL Intensify Me Liquid Liner states it provides just that and more! It has a paddle tip to perfect the winged liner by using the paddle side for the upper lash line and then using the thinner side to create the wing without mistakes.
It does provide the control of a pencil and the intensity of a liquid liner. And although the liner glided on smoothly, dried instantly, and left no smudges at the end of the day, I found that after a few uses, the liner felt a bit scratchy and you’d have to put a bit of force in order for any of the liner to appear. It still works wonders but this wouldn’t be the first liquid liner I would pick up.
