About last week… I was asked to “Glow to Prom” to celebrate #NYXClassOf2016. Of course I said yes! I mean, who doesn’t want to re-do prom? I certainly do. I have mentioned in a past post, my high school prom wasn’t what I had hoped – still had a great time, though. But to be able to have a second chance at prom, I made the most of it. Well, sort of. If I had Claire Danes’ Met Gala gown by Zac Posen, my evening would have been complete!
The #NYXClassOf2016 Prom was an event hosted by NYX to celebrate their latest grand opening store at CF Toronto Eaton Centre as well as support The New Circles Prom Project. Attendees were encouraged to bring a pre-loved/new dress or suit to help students who are facing economic barriers shop for a prom outfit at no cost. I brought in one of my favourite dresses that I wore during a high school semi formal. As lovely as that dress is, no matter how attached I am with it, it no longer fits the way I like it. I knew it’s going to a better place; to someone who will go to prom in that dress and build memories.
At the venue, besides good music, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, there was a giant lip-shaped board which guest were able to sign their name and messages. Who needs a guestbook when there is a giant board and pens with ink that glow?! There was also two photobooths which were a lot of fun – one consist of fun props while the other was a “selfie mirror”. There was also a plinko board where guest can win prizes.
Of course, no party is complete without a little gift bag. Inside the cute backpack consist of a colouring book, coloured pencils, and NYX Beauty School Dropout Palette in Graduate. Let me just say, I am in awe at how gorgeous the palette looks! With over 35 eye shadows, 3 blushes, 2 illuminator, and 2 contour shades, it’s definitely a palette one can use daily and carry during travels. I will be doing a review and swatches of the NYX Beauty School Dropout Palette in an upcoming post, stay tuned!
This looks so fun! And that palette looks great, so many shades to choose from!
Right? It's such a great palette – I can't wait to start playing 🙂
Ohhh you got the sunglasses! So lucky! All of my friends and I got the bubbles! 😀
I thought my chip landed to win the bubbles but I was given the sunglasses 🙂
