Favourite Five: Canadian Beauty Brands

Oh Canada! There are many homegrown talents that are making international headlines, from musicians, actors to designers and even beauty brands. Did you know MAC Cosmetics was founded in Canada? It is now one of the top three global makeup brands.

There are so many Canadian beauty brands out there and you best bet that I’m proud of each and every one of those companies, whether they’re locals or have made it international. I have a long list of favourite Canadian beauty brands, but I thought I should just list five that I admire. As well, give a shout out of a product from each that I consider a holy grail.

Annabelle Cosmetics

Product I Love: Annabelle Kohl Eyeliner – When I first discovered makeup during my early teen years, Annabelle Kohl Eyeliner was one of my first purchases. To this day, it is still considered my all time favourite pencil eyeliner. The Kohl Eyeliners come in a wide selection of colours in matte, metallic or chrome. These long lasting eyeliners glide on so smoothly and doesn’t smudge. Best of all, they’re hypo-allergenic!

Bite Beauty

Product I Love: Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick – I wrote a post on Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche which you can check out the review here. But to recap, the Amuse Bouche is everything you would want in a lipstick. It is creamy on the lips – almost like butter. It provides quality pigment. And the fresh scent of citrus, tops everything off!

Cake Beauty

Product I Love: Delectable Coconut & Cream Ultra Nourishing Hand Cream – Hydrating and moisturizing, the ultra nourishing hand cream is infused with coconut oil, shea butter, and aloe vera. The cream’s rich but never greasy formula nourishes and rejuvenates hands and cuticles. It’s also paraben and gluten-free. And the scent of coconut and cream is super dreamy in my books!

Joe Fresh Beauty

Product I Love: Joe Fresh Highlighter Powder – I discovered the Joe Fresh Highlighter Powder through seeing multiple Canadian bloggers who rave about this product. I had to hop on this bandwagon and see what all the hype was about. Let me just say, there is a reason why everyone is loving this highlighter. It’s a shimmering pearl powder that creates a flawless glow!

NUDESTIX

Product I Love: NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balm – It offers vibrant colour with smooth coverage, super moisturizing, not sticky or drying, and doesn’t provide feathering. To top everything off, there’s no animal testing, it’s vegan and free of preservatives, gluten and parabens.
