Disclaimer: Not sponsored. I received this product from a Sephora in-store public event to celebrate the launch of Too Faced’s new Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer. Views expressed are of my own.

Last month when I attended Generation Beauty I was ecstatic to learn that Too Faced was exclusively demonstrating and offering their new Born This Way Concealer to every attendee. At that time, this product hadn’t been released to the market and was set to launch in the upcoming month (available now at TooFaced.com and in Sephora Canada July 2016). Unfortunately, I got to their booth a little too late and they were out of the “lighter” shades (they were kind enough to offer me their Sweethearts Bronzer).

Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer in Light Review and Swatch

After GenBeauty, I read so many reviews raving about this new concealer and I honestly couldn’t wait any longer to try it out myself. Can July come any sooner?!

Fortunately, earlier this month, Sephora held an exclusive 3-day event at CF Toronto Eaton Centre to celebrate the launch of the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer. A second chance to try out this concealer before it hits shelves?! I couldn’t be more excited. I mean, I don’t mind waiting another month but when an opportunity strikes, you take it! In this case, I wanted to experience and learn about the Born This Way Concealer firsthand with makeup artists from Too Faced.

The Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer instantly hides imperfections, vanish the appearance of dark circles, and blurs the look of lines and wrinkles for complete coverage. Infused with skincare benefits, this oil-free concealer includes:

  • Coconut Water which helps delicately replenish skin’s moisture levels without over hydrating
  • Alpine Rose to brighten skin’s appearance and promote elasticity and
  • Hyaluronic Acid provides long-lasting, skin-balancing hydration for a smoother, more youthful appearance

Creamy and comfortable, a proprietary blend of colour correctors create the look of flawless skin. Complexion will look naturally radiant when applied over or under foundation and even when worn alone.

To start off, this concealer smells a little like coconut! I have a thing for opening up a makeup product and smelling it before even giving it a swatch. And with Too Faced products smelling like chocolate or peaches, you best bet I took a whiff of the concealer! Insider note: I was talking to the makeup artist that was applying my concealer and she mentioned there’s going to be something later this year in relation to scented products (!!!).

The concealer claims that after using the Born This Way Concealer: 100% of consumer study results said it showed improvement in skin moisture levels after 1 hour, 97% said it provides a natural, undetectable finish; smooth, creaseless finish; and a flawless “no makeup” look. I would have to agree. A little goes a long way, the concealer is creamy but pigmented, it covered my imperfections and provided a smooth finish. I loved how the concealer is lightweight, which left the skin to feel its natural state and not cakey.

Lasting all day without any touch-ups or worry that the concealer would slide off, I’m impressed with the Born This Way Concealer. Though I was matched in person, I’m probably going to purchase the next shade darker as I felt “Light” was a tad bit light on me. Nothing a little extra blending and layering it over with foundation can’t do but sometimes I just want to simply leave the house with just concealing the under eyes and imperfections.

Available in 10 shades and retails for $28 USD/$32 CDN (7mL/0.23 fl oz). Will you be giving Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer a try? If you’ve tried it already what are your thoughts?

  1. I've been using this for under my eyes and really like how it looks! I ended up getting matched at Gen Beauty to Fair which is one of their lightest shades. Perfect for under the eyes, but it's a bit too light for pimples! I'll probably head to Sephora and end up swatching to see if one of their slightly darker shades could work for that!
