Welcome to my April 2020 Empties!

April 2020 Empties Hair and Skin Care Products

Back in March, it felt like a never-ending month, then enters April and in a blink of an eye, it’s already May. Perhaps we’re all finally fixated to this new normal at-home routine?! OR we found things to do to keep us occupied throughout the day.

In terms of empties in April, I didn’t empty out a lot of products. Since I’ve been staying put at home, it’s the perfect time to “experiment” with various products (mainly skincare) that I normally would hesitate to do in case of a reaction. I’ve also been washing my hair a little less (every third-fourth day, instead of every other day) and letting the natural hair oils do its thing – aiming for that once a week hair wash.

So for the past few weeks, that’s what I’ve been doing and hopefully there’ll be a lot more empties in the upcoming months.

HAIR CARE

April 2020 Empties Hair Care Products John Frieda Aveeno

John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery Repairing Shampoo, Conditioner, and Creme Serum
The shampoo and conditioner both had a sweet floral fragrance with the conditioner being a bit muskier scent. They both lathered and rinsed off easily and my hair felt cleansed and lightweight after it dried. The creme serum had a runny consistency and a playful sweet scent. A little goes a long way (this sample lasted me the whole month!), I applied it to wet and dry hair and it didn’t weigh down my hair or left it feel greasy.

Aveeno Positively Nourishing Moisturize Shampoo and Conditioner
Although there wasn’t anything overly special about this shampoo and conditioner duo, I still quite liked it. They both have a relaxing sweet oat scent and it lathered and rinse out easily. I also liked how my hair felt after, besides feeling cleansed, it left my scalp and hair feeling soft and nourished.

SKIN CARE

RoC Pro-Correct Anti-Wrinkle Rejuvenating Fluid
It’s pretty hard to see any results with a sample size product, I also don’t even have much wrinkles, so trying this product was more to finish a product. That being said, I’ve been wanting to introduce my skin to retinol, so I figure this will somewhat ease into it. The sample lasted for 3 weeks (I used this product once a week at night) and although there was a bit of dryness the day after application, I still liked how my skin felt – especially now, it feels smooth and supple. The product itself had a sweet fragrance and a lightweight lotion-like consistency, once applied, it immediately left my skin smooth.

What are your thoughts on my April 2020 empties? Have you tried any of the products featured? I hope everyone is doing well during this time.
