You have already seen what’s inside my bag. Now lets see what’s in my makeup bag!

Every other month or so, I would do a clean up of my makeup bag. Reason? I pack the essentials to grab and go but I end up with items taken out or added in. Eventually leading to a pouch full of miscellaneous. I took my makeup pouch straight from my purse, so everything shown is a view of what was currently left before cleaning. Tons of unexpected findings so let’s get started!

Eyes — Simplicity is key when it comes to makeup! As much as I love a smokey eye, sometimes there is not enough time to play with colours. When I am in a hurry and walk out, I like to have with me the basics for my eye makeup because little me does not like being out with bare eyes. The Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara and Maybelline The Rocket Volum’ Express are my go-to mascara duo, I cannot use one without the other! And what’s mascara without curling those lashes?!

An eye pencil sharpener for your eyeliner pencils! My very first eyeliner pencil happens to be my all time favourite, creamy and goes on smoothly! Who needs to carry a giant eye shadow palette when all I need is a simple duo palette that works just fine. The Clinique eye shadow duo with shades Daybreak and a single shade from Teddy Bear quad provides pigment shades to create a natural eye look, perfect for everyday wear. Oh and quick tip, always have a mirror with you!

Lips — Pucker up! Chapped lips are the worst of the worst but my lips think otherwise. So I always have a bunch of lip care products. The Clinique All About Lips is a product I was introduced at a Clinique counter back in 2006 and have been with me since.

Took me long enough, but I finally decided to join the Maybelline Baby Lips bandwagon. I have heard many great things about Baby Lips, I had to give it a try. I went for a daring orange shade and so far so good! I am sure most people tried the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, a moisturising lip balm with SPF 15 and a lemon meringue scent. Absolutely amazing!

Lastly in the lip care department, Vaseline! Cannot go wrong with Vaseline, not only does it prevent chapped lips, but there are several other things Vaseline can do: removing makeup, heals dry skin, protects minor cuts and burns, even some helpful beauty tricks! And if anyone needs their chapped lips fixed, I will always have it handy!

Now, when it comes to colours on the lips, I gravitate towards nudes and light pinks. In my makeup pouch, I always pack a soft and a bold shade that will go with everything (for days when I am on-the-go and have no time to go through my stash of lipsticks).

Misc. — What’s a notebook without any writing utensils? I love gel-ink pens, rollerball pens, or any pen that glides smoothly. The Staples® Sonix Gel Pens are one of my favourites! I also carry with me a mechanical pencil. I am more of a pen than pencil girl, but in case a pen dries up, I have backup.

Always prepared, I have with me bandages, sanitizing wipes, bobby pins, hair ties (with a mini carabiner), and I cannot forget about the nails, nail filer. A safe and friendly “pocket knife (scissor, nail file, tweezer)” from Claire’s which was from eons ago! Sample fragrances: Bellissima Blumarine Eau De Parfum, Chloé Eau De Parfum, philosophy amazing grace, because smelling good is a must!
