Chocolate Crinkles – a soft, chewy, brownie-like cookie with a delectable chocolate flavour. Dust a bit (aka a generous amount) of icing sugar and optionally, top them with a piece of chocolate or an edible piece of decoration for an added touch. They’re perfect for those chocolate-loving sweet tooths and dessert lovers alike.
Ingredients (makes 36 cookies):
- 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder
- 1 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 2/3 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Unsalted Butter (Room Temperature)
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- Confectioner Sugar
Instructions:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder. Set aside.
In another large bowl, using a whisk or electric mixer, cream together butter and sugar. Then add in the vanilla and eggs, mix until the consistency is smooth and creamy.
Add in dry ingredients and mix until all ingredients are combined.
Once everything is incorporated, cover the bowl in plastic wrap and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours (or overnight).
When ready, preheat the oven to 325°F/160°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Using a cookie scooper, form dough into little balls and generously coat them in confectioner sugar and place them 2 inch apart on to the prepared baking sheet.
Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes and let them cool completely.
OPTIONAL: As soon as the chocolate crinkle cookies are out of the oven, immediately top them with Hershey’s Kisses, chocolate chips or edible silver pearls for added decoration.
