February may be last month but welcome to my first ever Empties post!
You’re probably wondering why I never do empties post. Let my tweet explain:
Pretty self-explanatory – I didn’t want to do an empties post featuring two items. It takes me a while to finish products for some odd reason but I always remind myself to “Set a goal and go!”
And right at the very beginning of February I had just finished a product and told myself to try and finish up more products that I have lying around, especially all the sample packets I have “collected”. I had already finished one product in the month of February, lets see if I can keep up and finish more than three and create an Empties post. Goal accomplished!? I would say so.
Body & Hair Care
Nivea In-Shower Cocoa Butter Body Lotion
I had tried a similar product in the past and loved it. The Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion had a different concept; use usual shower gel and rinse off, next apply In-Shower Body Lotion on wet skin while in the shower, rinse off and dry yourself. The scent of Cocoa Butter was heavenly as I was applying the product on my skin as well as after. Immediately when I got out of the shower, I noticed the product already absorbed into my skin, making it feel softer as if I just applied lotion post-shower.
Garnier Fructis Grow Strong Fortifying Shampoo and Conditioner
I had reviewed the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Shampoo and Conditioner which is from the same line. The Garnier Fructis Grow Strong is similar but targeted towards a different hair concern. I didn’t noticed anything major when using this shampoo and conditioner. I liked how it lathered and left my hair feeling clean. And of course, Garnier Fructis is known for their fruity scent, Grow Strong provided a nice fruity scent of apple and I absolutely loved it!
Garnier Whole Blends Coconut Water & Vanilla Milk Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner
I have a review on Garnier Whole Blends Green Apple & Green Tea which is from the same collection. While the Green Apple & Green Tea refreshed the hair, the Coconut Water & Vanilla Milk shampoo and conditioner hydrates. There wasn’t a significant difference in my hair but it felt quenched and soften. The scent of coconut and vanilla were definitely there and it was pleasant.
HASK Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shine Hair Oil
This HASK Hair Oil took me FOREVER to finish, not because I didn’t like it (p.s., I loved it!) but because a little goes a long way and I didn’t use it on a regular basis. When it comes to after hair wash/hair care, I don’t apply more than two products in my hair – every few weeks I would change products depending on what I think my hair needs. The HASK Hair Oil left my hair looking and feeling shiny and smooth – check out my full review of this product here.
Skin Care
Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream Moisturizer
It may sound ridiculous for someone like me to be using anti-aging products when there’s hardly a wrinkle on my face but I’ve been told to start early to prevent them from happening – maybe that explains the no wrinkles. I don’t go out and purchase anti-aging products but if it came from a sample, I’ll use it – there’s no harm. This Olay Regenerist moisturizer applies on SO smoothly, I loved how soft and smooth my face felt after finishing the product. Added bonus, scent is simply lovely.
Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream
My face felt amazing after using the Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream. The moisturizer felt silky to the touch and soaked into my skin immediately. My skin felt smooth, hydrated and awaken. I will definitely be repurchasing this in the near future.
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm
I have actually heard many great things about La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 and how it does wonders to dry and sensitive skin. Last month, my skin gotten a bit drier than usual, I decided to give this sample a try. I want to like this product but I didn’t noticed any improvements, my skin still felt dry and chapped. I tried it on my lips and it made my lips drier than before.
Jack Black Moisture Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 in Black Cherry
I rave about Jack Black Lip Balms a lot on the blog. I usually get Mint but Black Cherry came with the gift set duo a back in 2016. Black Cherry doesn’t offer the same tingling/refreshing feel on the lips compared to mint but it does provide the same moisturizing lips that I know and love by Jack Black. The scent of sweet cherry is very subtle and no detection of flavouring.
Miscellaneous Products
Esqido Companion Long Lasting Bond (Product Review)
This Esqido eyelash glue is one of my all time favourites for two reasons. 1 – easy application due to the fine tip wand and 2 – the glue holds on all day and I never worry that my falsies would fall off. I’m tossing this in the trash because it’s close to finishing but has clumped up to the point of no use.
One Direction Volumizing Mascara (Product Review)
Although One Direction are no longer a band, I still have a few makeup products from their “makeup collection”. As I was going through my stash for a new mascara, I realized I haven’t touched the One Direction mascara in YEARS, it must be so old. And old it was, the mascara completely dried out but I do remember liking it when I first used it.
Secret Scent Expressions Clear Gel Antiperspirant/Deodorant in Cocoa Butter Kiss
I didn’t even get a chance to use this particular product but I have reviewed this product in a different scent. The reason I’m throwing it away is because there’s literally no product in sight. I had this product sitting in my stash for a while, waiting for the day it gets used but I guess the gel didn’t have the patience and oxidize.
How do you think I did with my empties in February? Have you tried any of these products before? How long does it take you to finish up products?
