Cult favourite and winner of multiple major awards, Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is your go-to powder. Pros love the super smooth application, which goes on evenly, blends effortlessly and provides great wear. A touch of sheer coverage with a matte finish sets makeup flawlessly for 12 hours.
This lightweight, finely-milled powder doesn’t add weight or texture to skin, doesn’t settle into fine lines and never looks cakey. Its no-flashback formula is perfect for photos and creates a soft-focus effect to subtly blur the look of fine lines and imperfections. It’s oil-free, non-comedogenic, non-caking and dermatologically-tested. It is recommended to apply this setting powder with the Velour Puff.
Three Shades for Virtually All Skin Tones:
Translucent: Perfect for fair to medium skin tones.
Translucent Honey: Sets medium skin tones with olive and golden undertones.
Translucent Medium Deep: Ideal for medium-deep to deep skin tones.
How To Use:
- Preparing the puff is key: press the Velour Puff into the loose powder, then work the powder into the puff by folding and rubbing the halves together, or by tapping the powdered side vigorously on back of hand.
- Gently press puff onto skin, using a rolling motion to “work” the powder in.
- (Around the eyes, use Secret Brightening Powder For Under Eyes)
Velour Puff
This specially designed textured puff molds and conforms to the face as needed to pick up, hold and apply powder. Designed to complement Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder, each puff provides expert application across all areas of the face.
How To Use:
- Saturate the puff with powder, and remove excess by tapping the puff on top of your hand.
- Gently press the puff onto the skin, using a rolling motion to “work” the powder into the skin.
- To clean the Velour Puff, wash with mild soap by hand or machine wash in a lingerie bag.
There is a reason why this setting powder is a cult favourite. It’s lightweight and blends evenly on top of my foundation – leaving a smooth matte finish. I found that the Velour Puff does help pickup and distribute the product but so does using a powder brush. The only difference would be that the puff holds the powder while applying so it doesn’t create a powdery mess and it’s easier to press the product into areas that a brush might not get be able to get into.
A little goes a long way, this setting powder is great at combating shine and leaving a smooth complexion throughout the day. My makeup stayed on all day and I didn’t find a need to do any touch-ups. Overall, the translucent powder is a great must-have. The Velour Puff is nice to have, but it’s not a must, equivalently, using a beauty sponge would be a great alternative.
