Welcome to my March 2020 Empties!

March 2020 Empties featuring Hair and Skin Care Products

Wow! What a month. With everything that happened in the month of March, one would’ve thought a few months have gone by but nope, it was still the third month of the year. Although the month felt long, I didn’t finish a lot products. I guess because I was home all day, there wasn’t a need to use a ton of products. But Hey!, at least I got some products out of the way – better than nothing!

HAIR CARE

Empties Pantene Expert Collection Dry Defy Split End Serum John Frieda Frizz Ease Luxurious Volume

Pantene Pro-V Expert Collection Dry Defy Intense Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner
I don’t really have dehydrated hair but it is lacking a healthy shine. This shampoo and conditioner duo had a lovely sweet fragrance. It lathered and cleansed my hair quite well. It made my hair look hydrated and smooth, while leaving it feeling soft.

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Split-End Serum
You’re probably wondering what’s up with the packaging?! Well, this came from a mystery brand box from Influenster back in 2014. Yeah! They sent out unlabeled products for participants to blind test and in a few weeks, they would send out the actually product. I had been meaning to finish the split-end serum that year but was too occupied with other hair serums and completely forgetting this existed. That was until a few months ago when I rediscovered it in my stash. There was about half a bottle left and a little goes a long way but I finally finished it!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner
The shampoo had a sweetened floral scent while the conditioner had a similar scent but more tone down. It lathered my hair quite well and rinsed off easily. This duo really did make my hair feel smoother and frizz-less.

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Touchably Full Shampoo, Conditioner, 7-Day Volume In-Shower Treatment
The In-Shower Treatment wasn’t for me. I don’t know if it’s because the product didn’t rinse out completely or if it didn’t work as I would’ve thought. My hair felt weighted down in the roots and because it’s a one-time sample use, it’s unfair to speak on the treatment entirely. With that said, I didn’t have a problem with the shampoo and conditioner. Both had a lovely sweet scent and my hair felt clean and really gave it a bit of volume.

SKIN CARE

Empties Bio-Oil Avene Tolerance Extreme Cream Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

Bio-Oil
I love Bio-Oil for its multi-purpose (check out The Many Uses of Bio-Oil post). I’ve been using it daily in my skincare – in the mornings, I will either mix it with my liquid foundation or if I’m not wearing foundation that day, I’ll just pat Bio-Oil to my face for an added glow. In the evenings, I would apply it to my nightly skincare as a last step.

Avène Tolérance Extrême Cream
This sample said to discard after 3 days after opening. I can see why they would state that as it’s a sterile dosage packaging. I did sneak in a fourth day because there was really only a bit left. There’s nothing to be said about this cream, it’s a great moisturizer and left my skin feeling really smooth.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
I used this cleanser as is since I really hadn’t worn makeup all month so there was no need for a double cleanse. The cleanser has a runny gel texture and leaves a gentle balm-like feeling when cleansing. It’s completely scentless, rinses off easily and leaves skin feeling smooth and cleansed.

What are your thoughts on my March 2020 empties? Are you good at finishing up products? Have you tried any of the products featured?
